Summer Golf Course Intern
Golf course in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.
Position Overview:
Supporting our member Head Golf Professional and membership team in managing day-to-day golf operations including the on-site Pro Shop, Outside Services, starters/player assistants, merchandising, tournaments, group events/outings, and golf instruction. A commitment to member service, brand excellence, and genuine hospitality and care are paramount in this position.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all facets of golf operations, including the supervision and coaching of outside services, starters, and player assistants.
• Oversee and manage daily pace of play.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in managing tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament event sheets, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow-up.
• Conduct individual lessons and group clinics.
• Assist the head golf professionals with management of outside services, player assistants, and starters to ensure the highest quality of member/guest service is achieved.
• Assist the head golf professionals with training all golf operations staff and junior programming.
• Assist in managing golf cart fleet, practice facility, and club storage.
• Provide club repair and club fitting services.
• Assist with all merchandising operations to include inventory control of hard goods, special orders, ordering procedures, receiving procedures, displays, and sales.
• Assist with the administration of staff work schedules in accordance with the Human Resources Department.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
Requirements:
PGA member or apprentice preferred.
Minimum of 2 years golf industry experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Golf Genius is a plus.
Possess fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations.
Exhibit strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community.
Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends.
Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations.
Compensation:
$45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year.
