The core responsibilities include:

  • Provide Direct Services to a Caseload
  • Serve as Co-Teacher in Regular Classroom
  • Develop and oversee the case management system for all students on IEPs and 504 Plans, including overseeing manifestation hearings and developing appropriate modifications, accommodations, and annual goals.
  • Conduct Transfer Conferences and Annual Reviews according to State and Federal Guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate files and documents in district's online platform
  • Establish and maintain and working relationship with parents
  • Train staff on all aspects of the modifications and accommodations. 
  • Coordinate the assessment program for students with identified accommodations as outlined in the IEP or 504 Plan.
  • Coordinate, direct, and supervise the implementation of the assigned program according to district policies and procedures
  • Create and implement personalized learning plans for each student that are data informed, and Arkansas State Standards aligned.
  • Assist teachers through demonstration teaching, classroom observation, and visitation
  • Assist with classroom management, organization and daily class scheduling, lesson plans, and parent-teacher conferences
  • Maintains Learning Plans for students with IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Create and supervise the school’s Response to Intervention program for students needing additional academia and/or social support; coordinate referral system with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the reporting system for all special education and related services programs.
  • Manage the procurement of 3rd party services needed to support special education services; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these services.
  • Utilize data to assess student learning and the effectiveness of teaching practices
  • Maintain accurate student files that are in compliance with state requirements.
  • Collaborate with academic team members as well as other teams within the school to share student information
  • Implement student-specific interventions and track related progress for both academic and social-emotional needs
  • Fully participate in professional development opportunities throughout the year
  • Work collaboratively with parents/guardians, families, and other members of the community to involve them in academic activities and to support the success of a diverse student population and to bring in volunteers and additional resources.
  • Assume responsibility for evaluating student learning: supervise the collection and analysis of multiple sources of data and employ the results to continually improve learning and engagement among all students.
  • Implement and maintain high standards for student character, with an emphasis on developing self-regulation, intrinsic motivation, and student-engaged learning.
  • Coordinate special education services for students with disabilities in the Special Education Program and/or Mental Health Agency Facilities
  • Coordinate and assist with District and State-wide testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work with school leaders to ensure on -time and accurate reporting of academic results to families.
  • Ensure that the school is in compliance with the requirements of IDEA, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; complete all required reports with accuracy by identified submission dates; ensure confidentiality of student files

 

 

 

 

  • Valid Special Education Supervisor Arkansas certification

  • Master's Degree in area of special education or related field

  • Minimum of three years teaching experience
